Talk "Information and misinformation: To Learn or Not to Learn" on 10 August 2015

To mark our 70th anniversary, we invited Dr. Lee Hau Leung, the Thoma Professor of Operations, Information and Technology at the Standford Graduate School of Business to deliver a talk on “Information and misinformation: To Learn or Not to Learn”.

In our daily lives we are inundated by a lot of information, which we use to make decisions. A lot of such information can actually be misinformation, and we can also be vulnerable to misuse what seemingly is sound information. How can we learn to be smarter in using information? Being able to interpret information can enlighten us, while using misinformation can mislead and harm us. In the talk Professor Lee shared with us a few lessons drawn from business, based on his interactions with business executives in how they learned or did not learn from the information they had.
