On 16th November 2003, Partners from P. C. Woo & Co., Ms. Emily LAM Yuet Ming and Mr. Henry LAI Hin Wing, in response to an invitation from the Jiangsu Lawyers Association, conducted seminars for over 100 local lawyers separately. In these seminars, Ms. Lam introduced the international arbitration systems in Hong Kong while Mr. Lai discussed on the legal problems arising from the merger and acquisition of listed companies in Hong Kong. At the seminars, the lawyers were more concerned on the topic of "CEPA" and this topic increased the co-operation channel of both Hong Kong and China for more opportunities for future developments. It is said that these seminars have also improved the understanding and co-operation of the legal professionals between Hong Kong and Mainland China to realise the future win-win situation.
During this trip, Ms. Lam and Mr. Lai also met with some well-known entrepreneurs of Jiangsu Province on 15th November 2003, and discussed with them the legal aspects of the formation and listing of companies in Hong Kong by the entrepreneurs. Ms. Lam also pointed out the corporate financial difficulties encountered by the entrepreneurs in Mainland. She also said P. C. Woo & Co. is aware of the difficulties and is willing to work out solutions with their clients.
In that evening, Ms. Lam was also invited by the Law Faculty of the Nanjing Agriculture University to speak on "The Laws in Hong Kong" and also introduced their history, development and the changes after Hong Kong's take-over. After the talk, Ms. Lam had a brief discussion with the students.
